Abstract

The acute respiratory infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus belongs to the traditional medicine family of "infectious epidemic diseases". The viruses cause damage to lungs; thereby they affect the whole body, qi, and blood. They even attack heart and, thus, risk patients’ lives. Based on clinical manifestations, it can be divided into 4 stages: onset, full-blown, critical, and recovery. For each stage, traditional medicine with its unique selection of treatment based on the differential diagnosis has promoted certain effects, contributing to protecting the patient's health, preventing the disease and slowing down the transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic.
