Abstract
Study on the clonal propagation of the Vitex negundo L. by cutting method was carried out in Ho Chi Minh city. The production process of cutting based on the results of the experiments on the seasons, type of cuttings, cutting length, IBA growth stimulant, potting mix and time to bring the complete seedlings to grow in the fields. The experiments were arranged in a completely randomized block design. The propagation of Vitex negundo L. in March achieved the highest survival rate of 92,2%. The fastest sprouting time was appeared at 2 days, rooting at 12 days after cutting, through using mature branchs with 20cm lengh. A complete seedling achieved average by 3.6 buds and 41.1cm height, and the rate of success achieved 94.4%. The new cuttings were placed in trays containing clean soild potting mix around 120 days before growing in the fields and the seedlings can grow well with the survival rate reached of 93.3%.
