Abstract

The 3T Rheumatoid Arthritis Capsules with 8 herbal ingredients are produced under the Vietnam Pharmacopoeia IV standards. Objectives: 1. To study the acute toxicity and investigate the LD50 of the 3T Rheumatoid Arthritis Capsules on experimental basis. 2. To evaluate of the effects of the 3T Rheumatoid Arthritis Capsules on the general condition, hematological indices and liver and kidney functions of the rats. Results: 1. The 3T Rheumatoid Arthritis Capsules had no acute toxicity at the dose of 15.6g of medicinal herbs/kg and no mortality was observed. 2. After 4 weeks, the 3T Rheumatoid Arthritis Capsules at the doses of 1.05g/kg/day and 3.15g/kg/day (3 times higher than dose 1) had no effects on the hematological parameters, liver and kidney functions and no morphological damages were shown on the macroscopic and microscopic images of liver and kidney of the rats.
